Compilation of monologues from plays centering around climate change crisis. Narration introduces each piece with a video and sound montage.
When we received the completed montage video from Digital Media Designer Kevin Frazier, the video did not include any audio. We added in all sound effects in post using both libraries and Foley recording. Music was pulled and edited to match the shift in beats in the narration.
Co-Sound Designer Isabella Cornea primarily focused on dialog recording and editing, and I primarily focused on sound effects, music, and the main mix.

To facilitate file transfer and software availability between the co-designers, we used Adobe Audition to edit and mix down the narration dialog, library and Foley sound effects, and underscoring music.
The narration in the introductory montage sequences was recorded in a voice-over booth converted from a lighting booth at the theatre.
Co-sound designer Isabella Cornea primarily focused on the dialog editing, using iZotope RX and Adobe Audition. As the faculty mentor, I provided training and resources to Isabella to learn how to use RX.

In By the Way, Meet Vera Stark by Lynn Nottage, Vera Stark and Gloria Mitchell are cast in a Golden Age Hollywood film, "Belle of New Orleans." A short clip from this film is played back to the audience during the play. To accommodate this, we held a film shoot with the actors and produced the film. In addition to sound designing the play, I also served as Sound Editor, Production Audio Mixer, and created the sound score for the film shoot.
